Alice Tea Pitchers

Alice Tea Pitchers

Posted by ameliabrooke on 12/25/2006
Winter 2005

Two pitchers, one made with an Alice (from Wonderland) on the side. Alice was made after dripped surface decoration and thick layer of majolica had dried. I then carved canals for her lines, then filled them with a tiny dropper of overglaze. I made this technique up because I didn't want her to drip along with the rest of the glazes. This way, when the majolica melted, it would trap her colored lines.

earthenware cone 04, both pitchers are 10" tall
