Faith
Not sure what you have faith in but whatever it is keep it strong. You will go through many times where you want to tear your hair out. For just getting started you are doing quite well. As far as not getting attached to your pieces until they are fired I could not agree more. I never get attached to any of them. But you are on the right path keep it up. I myself, Tanner, have only been working on the wheel for about a year and a half. I still have sooo much more to learn.

Keep the work up..
Hi Sam,
Another thing that will might help you, is when you are tired dont keep at the wheel. Move away and go back to later. Any failures you do, just remember sometimes if you let your imagination flow - these pieces can be saved with handforming or save these pots and it's a great way of testing out new colours before putting them on "the perfect one". Each piece is your creativity, hard work it's hard not to get attached when they fail, but learning from your mistakes is a way of growing and gaining insight for better pieces. If you are just starting - another piece of guidence I can offer you is dont aim too big, go for the small pieces until you are comfortable of going bigger.
It's great to see beginners on this site.
