My second assignment for my hand building class. this is platter in the shape of an avocado designed to hold guacamole in the "pit" and chips all around it. it's been getting a lot of use since it came of out the kiln :-D About 17" long. earthenware cone 04, majolica with overglazes (so much so it dotted white) middle bowl was thrown, the rest was built with belts. pretty foot in the bottom for washing

Big Brother Pasta Bowl

I made this for my brother for the holidays. He eats enormous piles of pasta and is always chasing it off his plate, i thought he may need some sides on his plate. I love how this turned out, i experimented with some new underglazes. each element has a different underglaze and over glaze. The detail on my stamp (which is actually my nightstand's knob) came out just as i had dreamed. it's the same glaze as on my Dino Tea Set. About 11" diamiter and 4" tall. Earthenware cone 04. One handle for hanging when not in use

A bowl I made for my friend for her birthday. Her birthday is mid-March, and I associate that time with daffoldils. She's in love with crowns and I realized they kinda look like daffodils! SO the inside is growing crown daffodils while the outside has a modern crown symbol all around. I put a quote (madonna style HA) we used to sing as kids on the side. These details were made by carving away at a white slip on greenware before bisque firing then dipping in an umber glaze before glaze firing.

This is made from Round mould, then I have re-designed it and placed the shapes out of it. The clay is stoneware.. Keep tune of when it's fired in the aqua glaze - I will post another pic.
