Paca Mugs

Paca Mugs

(ameliabrooke)
Winter 2005

My first assignment in Wheel Throwing we were asked to create 16 cylanders, 4 unique sets of of 4 mugs. no handles, but exploration in shape and surface decoration. being the first time i ever glazed, the background behind my alpacas didn't come out the white that i wanted it to be, my majolica was too thin. But it's a nice landmark. Earthenware, majiloca with overglazes.

Spring 2006

A graduation present for my brother who I can't see graduate from University of Delaware because I am at school in Savannah. I know I can't make up for it with a coffee mug, but this is a gift that will keep on giving. Words can't explain how proud of him I am for getting through school, opening his eyes to wonderful future opportunities, and setting such an awesome example for his sister.

Fall 2006

I threw this in my spare time and had it sit as greenware on my shelf for a lonnng long time thinking i would eventually turn it into something for my boyrfriend. Finally, we got a second to get away from school and traveled down to Florida for one of String Cheese's last shows (well, at least for a while) and along the way i carved this little design on the sides in the car. It hung around our house for a while, one of my roommates broke the handle off, so i put it back on. I glazed it, and since it was a little underfired I already got a chip on it. Yeesh, this guy has got some character. Earthenware cone 04 about 5" wide (without handle) and about 3.75" tall.
